Late May to early September on Gotland. August is the quietest good month: the sea is at its warmest, the island empties after the Swedish holiday weeks, and the light stretches well past nine.
When to ride in Sweden
- Daylight
- Eighteen hours at midsummer, around fifteen in August, with a long soft dusk that makes evening riding easy.
- Wind
- The Baltic is open water — expect a steady coastal wind and plan the loop so the exposed shore comes with it behind you.
- Surface
- Smooth minor roads with long, well-kept gravel sections inland.
