Quiet in Europe rarely means remote. It means riding parallel to the busy line: the far bank of the river, the island instead of the mainland, the old pass road left behind when the tunnel opened, the inland lane two valleys from the coast road. Every route here is picked that way, and each one keeps its traffic-free or low-traffic character for most of its length.
Trains reach the start of every European route in this edition, and each finishes within a half-day of a mainline station or airport. Accommodation is village-scale — guesthouses, small hotels, family pensions — so no route requires camping unless you want it.

April to early June and September to October. High summer is rideable in the Peloponnese if you start at dawn and stop by noon; the shoulder months are kinder in every way.
May to September on the Danube, with late August and September the calmest: warm water-level air, harvest light in the Wachau, and the summer flotilla thinning out day by day.
May to September. June and September are the sweet spots: the light is long, the lanes are dry more often than not, and the coast road is far quieter either side of high summer.
Late June to late September, once the high passes clear. August offers the most reliable run of open passes and settled afternoons; September brings colder mornings and emptier roads.
Late May to early September on Gotland. August is the quietest good month: the sea is at its warmest, the island empties after the Swedish holiday weeks, and the light stretches well past nine.
June to early September on the Atlantic coast. July and August are warmest and most settled; late August gives you dark evenings again, quieter roads and the first autumn colour.
